Acer ebii: The Amazing Smartbike That Thinks As You Do | Acer entry In eBike 2023

When you hear the name Acer, the first thing that probably comes to mind is their line of PCs, laptops, and tablets. However, the company has just announced something completely different – a lightweight e-bike called the “ebii”. Unlike their usual tech gadgets, the ebii is not only sustainable but also comes with an AI-driven app that provides a personalized experience to the riders.

Acer Ebii Details

The ebii may not have the stylish curves of some e-bikes, but it’s certainly utilitarian in design. The chunky “ebii Box” houses the control box, battery pack, and headlight, with the seat and handlebars protruding upwards from it. Interestingly, the bike’s 460 W battery can be removed and used as a portable charging station for USB-C devices, highlighting Acer’s tech roots.

Weighing in at just over 35 pounds (16 kg), the ebii is relatively lightweight, thanks to its single-sided fork for the front tire. Acer claims that it can accommodate riders between 4.75 and 6 feet tall (145 to 185 cm), but those taller than that may not find it as comfortable. With a top speed of around 15 mph and a range of 68 miles, it won’t break any speed or distance records either.

The ebii is marketed as an “AI-driven” e-bike, but it’s more precisely a machine learning-powered bike. The accompanying app adapts to the rider’s pedaling power, riding conditions, and preferred level of assistance, providing a more personalized experience over time. The app also allows proximity-based locking and unlocking of the bike, with GPS positioning available to track it if it gets stolen.

Although Acer claims that the ebii has a “smart LED display,” there aren’t any photos available yet. Some images show a smartphone mounted between the handlebars, which can display the charge level and other functionality. While Acer hasn’t revealed the price or availability of the ebii, the combination of smart features and lightweight design makes it an interesting option for urban commuters looking for a practical and sustainable transportation solution.
