Samsung is collaborating with Google and Qualcomm to create an Extended Reality (XR) experience for a head-mounted device.
The XR device may be a standalone headset and could operate independently of other devices, with its own battery.
The release date for the XR device is not yet known, but it was teased during the February Unpacked event and could be launched between August and September.
The success of the headset will depend heavily on Samsung's mixed reality app ecosystem, and it is unclear whether it will compete with or complement Meta's platform.
Samsung has also filed a trademark for the "Samsung Galaxy Ring," which is a smart wearable ring that tracks health, fitness, and sleep data.
